Western owned-and-operated, Alta Cebu Village Resort is a boutique resort with the unique ambiance of an eclectic Filipino artists’ village rooted amidst wondrous, mystical gardens. Though it is the closest resort to Cebu City, Alta Cebu is enough of a hideaway to provide a tranquil refuge for those who dream of a sanctuary near the sea.

Romantics, families, scuba divers, backpackers, ESL teachers and others from around the world meander the seven-acres of cobblestone paths, enchanted by 300+ varieties of lush, brightly-colored tropical vegetation carpeting the floor of Alta Cebu’s miniature rain forest.

Trained under the tutelage of master chef Joseph Wyats, one-time executive chef for the King of Belgium, Alta’s 5 dedicated chefs specialize in colorful presentation and tantalizing flavors, both international and Filipino. As far as we know, of all the 3 & 4 star resort restaurants in Cebu, Alta’s La Regatta restaurant is the only one with air conditioning.

By blending the best modern comforts (from Wi-Fi to extra-comfortable king sized beds) with Pacific Islander architecture and room décor, our design team wove nipa/amacan and exotic plants with artifacts and murals by local artisans into a resort-wide tapestry of native beauty.

Alta Cebu is a great escape to fun and leisure with: Tranquility Center (massage and beauty treatments), complete tour desk, free DVD movies, cultural events, socializing poolside with live entertainment, fashion shows, beauty contests, fitness center, sports (scuba lessons, wall climb, volleyball etc.), videoke, huge gift shop, jewelry and Filipino cooking classes, games and other activities and even a monkey zoo.

As one of the pioneers in sustainable tourism in Cebu, Alta practices and teaches environmental awareness to the community and offers environmental and volunteering activities to those guests who share our vision.

Our Mission

Our mission is to “never stop improving”. 76% of guests online reviews rate us excellent or very good. To enhance the already good service from our staff of 75, our staff recently underwent intensive training from two accomplished experts: Maarten Gerlach (pictured at left), a PUM Netherlands Senior Experts who graduated from the Swiss Hotel School Lucerne, Switzerland. Maartin was also a former Lecturer at University of Hospitality Management Hotel School, The Hague. In the kitchen we were advised by a Belgian executive chef, Joseph Wuyth.
