Alta is Garden Resort and Convention center located in Cordova, Mactan Island, Cebu. What used to be a barren 3 acre land when we started some four years ago is now a a 6-acre and growing sanctuary for several species of birds, insects and flourishing flora Alta is a home to more than 300 different kinds of plants that changes depending on the season.

Our contribution comes both in direct action by Alta, and by offering opportunities to experience environmental awareness and volunteering first-hand. Alta Cebu will accomplish its vision by:

Volunteering activities: Our staff will introduce guests to nearby orphanage kids and locals villagers enabling guests to experience of local culture and enabling orphan children and local residents a glimpse of other ways of thinking and living, with new ideas and options for a better future.

Alta Cebu Resort runs, donates, sponsors and / or actively participates in the following programs:
- Medical missions (At least two medical missions annually held for the local community)
- Participates in feeding programs for less fortunate and disadvantaged children
- Donates and facilitates volunteering at local orphanage and within the local community
- Supports college scholarships for well deserving students
- Donates time and material support to the Municipal and Barangay river and ocean cleanup projects
- Involved in other local coastal cleanup projects, recycling projects, environmental awareness drives
- Gives and plants tree seedlings to prevent soil erosion around the local municipality
- Teaches locals better gardening techniques from Alta’s organic garden
- Partially funds bundles of joy program-donate books & gifts given, throughout the year, to needy kids

As a participant in many community outreach and environmental programs Alta Cebu Resort facilitates and encourages interested guests to do the same. We can arrange a variety of projects if guest tells us, beforehand, how guest wishes to contribute. For example, we help guests find appropriate activities, mentoring or teaching within their respective interest or field.

- 8. I am considerate so I quit smoking.
- 9. I maintain fruits, berries, herbs and medicinal plants to use in our kitchen and to help feed migratory wildlife
- 11. I regularly clean lighting fixtures, reflectors, bulbs and windows to improve light reflection.
- 12. I use 100% recycled bathroom & facial tissue, and paper towels
- 13. I donate slightly used or soiled furnishings to non-profit organizations, rather than throwing them away
- 14. I recycle paper, newspaper, cardboard, aluminum, metal, glass and plastics
- 15. I observe "Quiet Hours" to reduce the stress caused by noise pollution.
